Maritime Museum

The seashell museum offers the possibility to discover the secrets of worldwide seabeds. This maritime collection of treasures represents a significant diversity throughout their various colors, sizes, shapes and textures. The wonder caused while contemplating these natural pieces of art straight out of the oceans, is worth it. More than being wonders for the eyes, our shells are not without history. For the most curious ones, come and discover more about the history of seashells.

Travel back in time and put yourself in the shoes of a pirate sailing the Mauritian waters in the 18th century. The Pirates Museum will transport you through the treasures of the island, the pirates' history and the spices trade of the Indian Ocean. You can then discover the corsairs' era during which the French took the ''island of France'' (old name for Mauritius) as their base.

The museum offers a unique experience immersing you into the world of piracy throughout historical items such as geographical maps or ancient compasses.
